LIKE RATS: Chicago Act Formed By Members Of Weekend Nachos Issues First Single

As Southern Lord prepares for the March release of II -- the sophomore LP from eradicating, Chicago-based, death metal horde LIKE RATS, founded by members of Weekend Nachos -- its initial single has been expended through a premiere of the album's final track, "Grief Incarnate."

The song comes through an exclusive debut at Invisible Oranges and partner BrooklynVegan to infiltrate the masses on multiple levels, issuing, "Calling to mind their contemporaries in Black Breath, LIKE RATS turn their focus to offering their own furious hardcore-inflected version of the crushing death metal of the likes of Entombed, Obituary, and Death. 'Grief Incarnate' is a crusher of a riff-delivery device, a consistent head-bobber of the highest order."

Immerse yourself in the scourge of LIKE RATS' "Grief Incarnate" RIGHT HERE or HERE.

II will see release through Southern Lord digitally and on LP, and on CD titled as Like Rats compiling every filthy fucking note the band has ever recorded with twenty-two tracks in total. Preorders are available at THIS LOCATION.

LIKE RATS Live:

4/30/2016 TBA - Milwaukee, WI w/ Disrotted, Northless, Lifes, Owlscry
5/01/2016 Downstairs - Chicago, IL w/ Disrotted, Staring Problem, Mexican Werewolf

Founded by members of powerviolence/grindcore kingpins, Weekend Nachos, with LIKE RATS the focus of the beatdown is much more heavily influenced by death metal with generous helpings of caveman swing, with a catastrophic end result one may imagine by crossing the old-school slaughter of Incantation, Celtic Frost and Obituary over with the modern devastation of the likes of Nails, Black Breath and Dead In The Dirt. The band's impending II sophomore LP surges with their most monstrous material yet, delivering eight new tunes with thirty-three minutes of pure savagery. Recorded by Andy Nelson (Dead In the Dirt, Harms Way), the Weekend Nachos crew has spawned an entirely different beast with LIKE RATS, and here lies the damaging proof.

Electric Citizen to support Wolfmother across Europe

Electric Citizen, the Cincinnati-based four-piece are confirmed as main support on the forthcoming 'Gypsy Caravan' tour which takes place across Europe during April & May 2016.

The band are also premiering the track 'Golden Mean' at REVOLVER MAGAZINE now.

The track is taken from the forthcoming album 'Higher Time' released, via the RidingEast label on May 6th in Europe & May 13th in North America.

Like its predecessor, Higher Time was recorded at The Diamonds studio in Cincinnati by Brian Olive (The Greenhornes, Dan Auerbach, Dr. John, etc.), and in search of an even more expansive feel, Laura, Ross and Brian traveled to mix the album alongside Black Keys engineer Collin Dupuis at Easy Eye in Nashville, TN. The results speak for themselves. In Laura’s performance and in the multi-faceted approach of Ross alongside bassist Randy Proctor and drummer Nate Wagner, Electric Citizen branch out with stage-born assurance across a collection of definitive rock ‘n’ roll. It is a bold, complete sound that sacrifices nothing of the band’s on-stage energy and clearly demonstrates that while their progression has been quick, it’s been hard won the traditional way: They worked their collective ass off.

FILTER drop new track, "Mother E", "Make America Hate Again" tour in April

Reconstruction requires deconstruction. The institutions must be razed in order to clear space for the future to flourish. You tear down the old and build up the new. Filter founder, singer, guitarist, and producer Richard Patrick knows this dance well. It’s what established the group as a multiplatinum industrial alternative luminary, and it catalyzed their seventh full-length album, Crazy Eyes [Wind-up Records].

Following the arrival of their brash and urgent new single, "Take Me To Heaven" and album announcement via Billboard, Filter keep fans satisfied with news of a forthcoming US tour, "Make America Hate Again." Featuring Orgy, Vampires Everywhere and Death Valley High, the tour sees frontman Richard Patrick bring Filter's electric live show back to audiences across the country.

“Filter is the mind,” he exclaims. “It’s your interpretation or my interpretation. Our thing is to look at people’s unexplainable behavior and assess it, using sound. It’s a way to approximate the insanity of the human condition. The reason this record is so fucking heavy and strange is it’s exactly the opposite of what’s popular. It’s not pretty. It’s not cute. It’s real.”

Crazy Eyes is due for release April 8, 2016 via Wind-up Records.
