ENTER SHIKARI ‘ANAESTHETIST’ New Single & Video

Straight out of the blocks for 2015, Enter Shikari unveil ‘Anaesthetist’, the latest track to be released from their forthcoming album ‘The Mindsweep’ (out January 19th 2015), and one of the most fan-anticipated new pieces of music from the St Alban’s quartet since it’s UK live debut at Reading / Leeds and on their main stage stint on Warped Tour in the USA last summer.

‘Anaesthetist’ is unashamed in its attack on those who would dismantle our NHS in the name of corporate greed and Tory economic ideology.

Vocalist / lyricist Rou Reynolds had this to say on the subject: “We seem to have reached a stage of such capitalistic fervour, that we believe it acceptable to punish people for ill health. By charging for healthcare we act as if illness is nothing but one’s own problem, but what is the purpose and advantage of ‘civilisation' if it is not helping the most vulnerable within society?

The lottery of birth can offer us a wealth of bad luck when it comes to our health and the safety nets are being pulled in as the desire to boost profit overtakes the desire to help people.”

‘The Mindsweep’ will be released in the UK on January 19th 2015 and comes almost exactly three years to the day after the release of the band’s last full-length album, ‘A Flash Flood Of Colour’. Pre-orders for the album are available now from www.entershikari.com, including a pair of rather lavish super-limited-edition formats and exclusive coloured vinyl available only via the band’s own webstore.

2015 will be a year of touring in support of ‘The Mindsweep’, with UK & European shows already announced and with many shows already sold out. The band have also announced two high-profile UK festival headline slots.. the first of which sees them headlining the Second Stage at Download Festival in June, and then headlining Somerset’s Nass Festival in July.

LEGEND INFO:Legend: they are the new ones - yet they are not new. They are Krummi Björgvinsson, artist and singer/songwriter of the famed rock band Minus. And Halldor Björnsson, composer/producer of innumerable works of musical mastercraft. Over the past 10 years these two friends had both separately become giants in the Scandinavian music scene. But, Legend had to become.

As the tale tells, one night their passion for electronica, plus a seemingly quasi-telepathic studio work process -and copious amounts of beer - led a song called 'Devil In Me' to be born. This song was leaked to an Icelandic radio station and soared up to the top of the charts. Realising this had become more than an experiment, the duo took the name Legend, after Ridley Scott's cult film about a fantastical battle between darkness and light. The same theme of spiritual conflict permeates their music, leading many to label it as 80s goth electro. But, rest assured, this album is luminous, as these two talents combined shine brightly.

The band's frontman and songwriter Krummi, is no stranger to the music world, having catapulted post punk-rock act Minus to deals with Sony, Victory Records, Smekkleysa, and One Little Indian. Legend's debut album Fearless was self-released on vinyl and CD in Iceland April 2012 to astonishing reviews, including comparisons to what reads as a who's who of modern music. An essential record that will keep giving back. Highly conceptual, dark and danceable, this newdarkwave duo have the big ones it takes to back up their name. Legend just signed to the Canadian label Artoffact Records. A perfect home for a band like us! The album Fearless was re-released on 11th of December in North America, Canada and Europe.

Legend to release a brand new collaborative split 7″. The extremely limited release will find the two bands covering one of each others songs, with Sólstafir turning Legend’s ‘Runaway Train’ into an epic, windswept metal voyage, highlighting singer Addi Tryggvason’s unique vocal talents along the way. Legend, on the other hand (a band consisting of Minus frontman Krummi Björgvinsson and composer Halldor Björnsson), will transform Sólstafir’s hit ‘Fjara’ into a sumptuously dark, Depeche Mode style electro-pop anthem.

LEGEND ARE: Krummi Björgvinsson & Halldór A Björnsson

VENOM PUT AN EARLY HEX ON 2015 WITH THE LYRIC VIDEO FOR ‘LONG HAIRED PUNKS’

VENOM, the hugely influential British heavy metal trio widely revered for driving and shaping the darker side of extreme music, return to the fray with the lyric video for ‘Long Haired Punks’.

This track – the first new music from the band since their ‘Fallen Angels’ release in 2011 – is taken from latest / 14th studio album, ‘From The Very Depths’, released January 26th (on CD & download) via Spinefarm Records; a double vinyl version will follow shortly after, also on Spinefarm.

Venom – vocalist / bassist and original member, Cronos, plus guitarist Rage and drummer Dante – have long delivered their music with an underground punk spirit, a blending of styles and stance documented in ‘Punk’s Not Dead’ from ‘Fallen Angels’, and continued now with the nefarious blast of black noise that is ‘Long Haired Punks’.

This ethos is further reflected in the production of the new album, overseen by evil mastermind Cronos, which has been kept real an’ raw for maximum impact.

Says Cronos: “This album is perfect; all three members are totally over-the-top confident with the new songs and the production. We had a great atmosphere in the studio while we were recording; Dante created pure thunder from his drums, while Rage tears the flesh off your face with his riffs, making everything fall into place so well… it shows the band maturing into an unstoppable force of pure Black Metal. We can’t wait to play the new songs live for the Legions… Hell Yeah!”
